Managing Director of the group is Dr. Alex Scaramangas - AS, who holds a B.Sc. (1st Class Honours) from Glasgow University, UK, in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering and Production Management, as well as a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering (Marine) from Cambridge University, UK, where he enjoyed several publications in the specialist press. He has been a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 1987. During his military service with the Hellenic Navy, he was engaged in a professional capacity, specialising in planning and supervision of repairs and conversions. AS joined Bogdanos in 1986 and is personally involved in all aspects of management of the firm's activities, including shipyard and other representations, surveys, consultancy work, special projects and newbuildings.
